We may have had the opportunity to meet during my time as the Maine Quilt Shop Hop Coordinator for the past several years. Maine Quilts 2021 is adding live Demos through Zoom!! Here it is June already and the Virtual Quilt show is only a month away. When we first started to plan a virtual quilt show it seemed a long way off and now it is almost here. The Quilt show Advisory board would like to thank all those who registered a quilt. Jo Bunker has donated another of her beautiful hand pieced, hand appliqued, and hand quilted creations she calls “My Garden Quilt”. It is 82” X 82” Just look at the beautiful fabrics and bright colors featured throughout this quilt! A true masterpiece! We are living in unprecedented times. This pandemic has affected each one of us in mostly the same way! We have been isolated from each other – our chapters are not holding meetings. Maine Quilts 2021 This year is going to be another year with different style of Maine Quilts. The Quilt Show Advisory Committee has been working hard to get a virtual show for you all to enjoy. One of the things that will be different is that you will able to enjoy the show from the comfort of your home in your jammies if you want. Another is we will not be asking for volunteers. Our 2021 Raffle Quilt – My Garden Quilt by Jo Bunker, member from Auburn Tickets for this lovely quilt will be coming the first of April. Chapters will receive packets with tickets for each member and floaters will be sent an email with information about ticket purchase by Lori Larrabee, our new raffle chair. Already we have had a few nights where a good quilt was needed on the bed and we’re seeing apples and cider doughnuts everywhere – it’s definitely fall! There is a lot going on behind the scenes in terms of planning for Maine Quilts 2021; but there is one area where we need your help. The Volunteer Chairperson for 2021 remains open. Hurry!!! Time is running out!!! You don’t want to miss it. We are still raffling our beautiful hand quilted and hand appliqued quilt created by Jo Bunker; a long time PTQG member. Photos do not do justice to the beautiful hand work. The drawing will be held in the parking lot at the August Civic Center on Saturday, July 25th.
