Crazy Quilts from the collection of Kathy Kenny

Kathy Kenny and her husband, Bill, traveled widely in the United States while Bill was in the military. Kathy, a wonderful quilter herself, collected antique quilts from all over the country. This exhibit contains her collection of crazy quilts, most made between 1880 and 1910. Included are quilts in silk, velvet and cotton, some made with cigar ribbons.  Other items include a crazy quilted wedding gown bodice, a Nantucket basket with a crazy quilt lid, a lambriquin with matching pillow covers, and small children’s mittens.

Kathy lives in Cumberland, Maine and is a member of Calico Quilters of Yarmouth.
