Hello! I started as the Maine Quilts Coordinator a few weeks ago and have hit the ground running! I am thankful for all the Committee Chairs who have stayed on and those, like me, who are jumping in for the first time.  Many of you have reached out already with ideas for teachers and other important feedback. Please don’t hesitate to contact me via the email address or phone number listed above. This is our show!  Although we are turning the page to 2021, a couple of good things are carrying over from 2020. First, the Theme Challenge: Needle to Needle. If you started workRead More →

Hurry!!! Time is running out!!! You don’t want to miss it. We are still raffling our beautiful hand quilted and hand appliqued quilt created by Jo Bunker; a long time PTQG member. Photos do not do justice to the beautiful hand work. The drawing will be held in the parking lot at the August Civic Center on Saturday, July 25th. We plan on videoing the drawing, so you won’t miss a thing. Details will be forthcoming.  The raffle quilt will be THE MAJOR FUND RAISER for PTQG for 2020. If you have not bought any tickets, please consider buying some right now. We need yourRead More →

It’s June. The sun has been out quite a bit, and everything has turned green. It is so very nice to see all the beautiful flowers everywhere. It continues to be a difficult time for all of us. I hope that all of you are staying safe. I continue to keep busy with sewing projects and outdoor work. The sun is a wonderful tonic.  I wanted to take a moment to remind everyone that tickets are still being sold for the raffle quilt. It will be THE 2020 MAJOR FUND RAISER for PTQG. We need your support. If you have already bought tickets “thank you”.Read More →

Although Maine Quilts 2020 has been cancelled we still have our beautiful quilt that we will be raffling off on Saturday, July 25th. This is a gorgeous quilt hand quilted and hand appliqued quilt made by Jo Bunker, a long time PTQG member. Photo attached.  This year the raffle quilt will be THE MAJOR FUND RAISER for PTQG. Now, more than ever we need your support. PTQG has incurred a number of expenses associated with the show. Although the show is cancelled these expenses have not gone away. Buying tickets will help to minimize the impact that the cancellation has on guild finances. Please buyRead More →

What a month it has been!! Who could have possibly imagined that we would ever be in the position we are in right now? I don’t have any words to adequately describe what is going on. I know that all of us are in a very difficult situation but I also know that all of us are working to make that situation a little less difficult in whatever way we can. That is the silver lining. The common goal of making a bad situation better. I hope that everyone is doing well and staying safe. Although it has been a very challenging time it willRead More →

The Maine Cancer foundation offers grants to programs which aim to reduce cancer incidence and mortality in the State of Maine. We have all been touched by cancer in one way or another. Supporting this program is a great way to support organizations that are doing some difficult and challenging work. We will be having another silent auction. Last years’ auction contained a lot of very special items. If you missed it, I can tell you that you won’t wantRead More →

The General Board of Pine Tree Quilters Guild, Inc. announces the cancellation of the September Members meeting due to the Coronavirus pandemic. It is felt that social distancing would be at risk with the age of our member population. We also have not been able to have a commitment from our location or another location. Voting for new officer positions, meeting a new Maine Quilts coordinator and any other business will be postponed to our January 2021 meeting. We will miss seeing each other and enjoying show and tell face to quilt. Keep safe and healthy and keep quilting! Callie Lavoie, PTQG PresidentRead More →
