October 4th Workshop
October Workshop—In Person! In response to survey results and comments at PTQG Board and Members’ Meetings, this fall will feature an in person workshop and NOT a Zoom workshop. There have also been several requests for help in answering the question, “How do I do my own quilting?”
Rana O’Connor (ranaquilts.wordpress.com) will present the workshop Free Motion Quilting on Your Domestic Machine on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the Sewing Machine Exchange at 1100 Brighton Ave., Portland, ME, from 10 am to 3 pm
Rana will cover how to set up your sewing space, needles and threads to use, and shapes which form the foundation of this skill. You will also work on stitching feathers—so versatile and beautiful! You’ll love being able to complete your tops at home!
There are eight spaces available for this in-person class and registration is on the PTQG website at https:// www.mainequilts.org. More information and details can be found on the registration page. Please bring your own lunch and the required supplies listed on the registration website for this hands-on workshop. The cost for this class is $55.
