Piecing Together Maine Quilts

Although Maine Quilts 2020 has been cancelled we still have our beautiful quilt that we will be raffling off on Saturday, July 25th. This is a gorgeous quilt hand quilted and hand appliqued quilt made by Jo Bunker, a long time PTQG member. Photo attached.  This year the raffle quilt will be THE MAJOR FUND RAISER for PTQG. Now, more than ever we need your support. PTQG has incurred a number of expenses associated with the show. Although the show is cancelled these expenses have not gone away. Buying tickets will help to minimize the impact that the cancellation has on guild finances. Please buyRead More →

What a month it has been!! Who could have possibly imagined that we would ever be in the position we are in right now? I don’t have any words to adequately describe what is going on. I know that all of us are in a very difficult situation but I also know that all of us are working to make that situation a little less difficult in whatever way we can. That is the silver lining. The common goal of making a bad situation better. I hope that everyone is doing well and staying safe. Although it has been a very challenging time it willRead More →

Cancellation of Maine Quilts 2020 With great sadness, we must announce the cancellation of the 2020 Maine Quilts due to the Coronavirus pandemic. We do not take the decision to cancel Maine Quilts 2020 lightly. We know that the safety and health of our attendees, quilters, volunteers, instructors, vendors, and community are most important. We are well aware that this unprecedented situation will have an impact on ALL of us. We all are creating quilts to exhibit and donations for our charities. Our show coordinator is working with her chairs to respond to each registration, quilts and workshops, and will issue refunds. We hope everyoneRead More →

The Maine Cancer foundation offers grants to programs which aim to reduce cancer incidence and mortality in the State of Maine. We have all been touched by cancer in one way or another. Supporting this program is a great way to support organizations that are doing some difficult and challenging work. We will be having another silent auction. Below is a list of designers and publishers we have information for. All “permissions” require proper pattern, book, publisher and designer credit be given. Look in the book or magazine. There may already be a statement that gives you permission to display the quilt.
