Our guest speaker is: Kate Gawler. She will share a talk and trunk show about “What Makes a Quilt Modern?” Along with the business meeting, there will be door prizes. Our guest speaker, Jackie MacDonald, who will share her knowledge about fabric design. Jackie MacDonald is a digital artist and fabric designer for Moda and designed the quilt for the 2025 PTQG raffle. Jackie’s philosophy is to design timeless patterns in soft, romantic color palettes to evoke feelings of warmth and wonder. Taking cues from her love of nature and the countryside, gardening, farmhouses and flea market treasures, she hopes to create art that celebrates everyday magic.
The January 31, 2026, Members’ Meeting guest speakers will be a collaboration of members from Art Quilts Maine and Crazy Quilters of Maine. A variety of stations surrounding the room will highlight members’ techniques and passions. Embroidery is the highlight from the Crazy Quilters of Maine. There will also be examples of how to add beads, 3D flowers from ruching, Chicken Scratch, Braille Embroidery with ½ pearls, covered buttons, big stitch, thread painting, couching, and more. This program is part travel log, part quilt show, and part personal exploration into the modern-day quilts of the UK and Ireland. Along with the business meeting, there will be door prizes.
