What is New this Year?

Our Challenge Row theme is “Lupines on My Mind”.

Sewing Machines are provided for two teachers, Brenda Henning and Pam Buda in all their classes. Brenda Henning – Janomes from The Fabric Garden and Pam Buda – Berninas from The Cotton Cupboard. What a chance to take a class and not bring your sewing machine! There will be an expert helper all day to assist you with the machines.

Look for these classes in your Brochure mailing in February.

 New this year – Gallery Talks. Mary Kerr, curator for “Quilt as Desired” and Rosemary Baum, quilter for “Fenway Park Revisited” will each be leading 30 minute informative talks through their exhibits. Hear up close and personal their experiences and stories. Wait to you hear about all the signatures on the Red Sox quilts Rosemary gathered! These are $10 ticketed event on Workshop and Event Registration form. Times: “Quilt as Desired” with Mary Kerr- Thursday night at 7:30 p.m., Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. and again at 3:00 p.m. “Fenway Park Revisited” with Rosemary Baum is Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.

This position accepts quilts shipped for the quilt show in July, delivers them to the Augusta Civic Center on Wednesday morning of show week and picks them up Sunday evening to return by shipping. Silent Auction is returning! Donations of quilted items requested. There will be a group of items to be auctioned on Friday only, another group for Saturday only and a third group for Friday, Saturday and Sunday to be auctioned on Sunday. There will be random selection for the three groups. You can take your winning item home the day you place your bids on Friday and Saturday as well as Sunday! Create some buzz and bid often each day. Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence is our charity we are supporting. Contact Ellen Corey, ellen.corey@yahoo.com with questions.

Volunteers needed to be a monitor for a workshop. Here is your chance to monitor a class, assist the teacher, and if time allows work on the class project. The workshops are listed on our website, http://www.mainequilts.org/Quilt_Show/Teachers.htm.
