Barbara Cline began her quilting journey in her teens and has since accumulated over 40 years of experience in both quilting and teaching. Her passion lies in breaking down complex quilt designs into manageable components, making it easier for her students to master each element and create their own masterpieces.
Barbara’s early career in quilting started at The Clothes Line (now Patchwork Plus), where she worked from the 5th grade until she got married and started a family. Over the years, she has authored six quilt books published by C&T Publishing, and many individual quilt patterns.
Currently, Barbara teaches quilting classes at local shops and offers lectures, trunk shows, and classes both nationally and internationally. She has also taught quilt classes on cruises and appeared on The Quilt Show. Her quilting adventures have taken her to places like Dubai and Kuwait. From her home in the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia, Barbara continues to design and piece beautiful wall hangings and quilts.
Coming from a close-knit Mennonite family of quilters, Barbara cherishes the annual sewing retreats where the women gather to quilt, sew, and engage in other creative pursuits. She has proudly entered and placed in the Paducah quilt contest “New Quilts from Old Favorites” with designs like Seven Sisters and Dresden Plate. Her work has also been showcased at the Paducah Quilt Show, Quilt Odyssey, Mid Atlantic Quilt Festival XVII, and the Hoffman Challenge.
