Star Shadows

Friday, April 22, 2022
Buker Center
22 Armory Street
Augusta, Maine

This will be a brown bag lunch.

‘Star Shadows’ creates an illusion of stars floating over the surface of a quilt and casting shadows below. This quilt with various star sizes creates a unique design that makes a spectacular wallhanging. The Fast Flying Geese Technique and Wing Clipper Tool make quick work of this project. Finished size is 38” x 40”. The Wing Clipper 1 and Quilters Magic Wand tools are required for this pattern. These tools are available from the instructor during class or are available at your local quilt shop.

Lunch is included with this workshop.

This quilt adds a dash of modern flair. ‘RickRack’ is made with the traditional Shaded 4-Patch block, which can be described as a traditional 4-Patch block cut in half diagonally.  But to create this block, there is no cutting of triangles, and there is no piecing of triangles.  All the piecing is done with strips and rectangles creating oversized blocks which are then trimmed down with the Tucker Trimmer 1 to make them perfect. One light fabric, one medium fabric and one dark fabric are all you need to create this interesting design. Finished size is 40” xx 40”.  The Tucker Trimmer 1 tool is required for this pattern.  This tool is available from the instructor in class or at your local quilt shop.
