Maine Quilts 2023 with a few photos

Best in Judged winner Pat Delaney, with her entry “My Neck of the Woods”

She was so excited!! Look for a complete list of winners (with photos) in the August issue of your Patchwork Press.

Another special moment of the show when the children paraded through the auditorium, lead by their teacher, Melanie Frechette, with their creations– a stuffed dachshund puppy! SO CUTE!

Maine Quilts 2023’s theme was “Christmas in July” – this is a photo of the display, created by Melissa Dusoe – it looked so festive!  In keeping with the theme, our Friday night banquet featured a Christmas dinner, complete with turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, squash and cranberry sauce, topped off by a slice of pumpkin pie! YUM! YUM!

Jen Kingwell, our Friday night banquet speaker, shared her journey with a trunk show which was enjoyed by everyone! Special credit goes to the two volunteers, Anne and Lorna, who held quilts for Jen while she spoke. The entire evening was most entertaining!

~ Note from the President ~

I hope everyone attended Maine Quilts and enjoyed the colors and techniques of all the quilts! So many to “ooh and awe” over. I hope you found everything you were shopping for! I hope you enjoyed your workshops, lectures and demos! I hope you enjoyed Jen’s Journey with Jen Kingwell, the Friday night banquet lecturer! I did! I saw the smiles, the friendly faces, the happy souls and loved every minute of it for you.

Thank you from my Pine Tree Quilters Guild heart for your attendance and participation. Please say thank you to Barbara Duffy, show coordinator and all the chairs and volunteers that worked so hard to get us here. They are very much appreciated! Please come join us in our many volunteer positions next year. It is very rewarding.
