What a month it has been!! Who could have possibly imagined that we would ever be in the position we are in right now? I don’t have any words to adequately describe what is going on. I know that all of us are in a very difficult situation but I also know that all of us are working to make that situation a little less difficult in whatever way we can. That is the silver lining. The common goal of making a bad situation better. I hope that everyone is doing well and staying safe. Although it has been a very challenging time it will not be like this forever. The show will be here before you know it! Have you signed up for classes yet? Don’t delay! I am also hopeful that many of you are planning on displaying a quilt at the show. With all of the social distancing going on there is more time to finish up those quilts and get them entered into the show.

Of course, we are still looking for volunteers. Trudi Woolston is our volunteer coordinator. Trudi can be contacted at truwoolston@gmail.com. This is her first year as volunteer coordinator. Please help her out by signing up early!! Volunteering for a minimum of two hours gets you free admission for the day. That is a wonderful deal.

Our Charity for the 2019 show is the Maine Cancer Foundation. We will be having another silent auction and we need your support. The Cancer Foundation works to make a difference to those dealing with this horrible disease right here in the State of Maine. We all know someone who has been impacted by cancer. This is your chance to make a difference by making a donation to the auction or bidding on an item We need your help! PTQG members have a strong tradition of supporting many good causes and I am sure that will be the case this year. Jill Fox and Mary Saucier from Cobblestone Quilters are the co- Chairs for this charity event. If you are wondering how to get your donation to Jill and Mary please contact them. We will help to make sure that donations get to the right place.

The Silent Auction will be open daily from 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM when the bidding closes. Winners will be announced each day and items may be paid for and picked up by 4:00 PM the same day. Since different items will be available each day it is important to come check out what is available. Bid early and often!!

We are looking for donations with a minimum value of $25.00. Donations can be quilted items or other handcrafted items but they can also be other items that you would like to bid on such as sewing items or gift cards. A blank form is also attached with this monthly update.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact Jill Fox at JFOX10@maine.rr.com or Mary Saucier at SAUCIM@mmc.org
