Michelle Renee Hiatt is an award-winning Quilter, Designer and National Instructor. Michelle has been sewing since before she can remember, and fell in love with quilting over 20 years ago. Michelle Renee is a certified Professional Process Expert (LSSMBB); she uses her process improvement techniques and applies them to her quilting and teaching others how to simplify their piecing while improving the quality of their quilt making. Michelle Renee teaches throughout the United States at National Quilt Shows and Retreats!

Michelle Renee is the designer for her own pattern line Sew On The Go and her designs have appeared in several international Quilting Magazines. Additionally, she is a Certified Instructor for Studio 180 Design and many of her patterns have been published in their Modern 180 pattern line.

Michelle’s design puts a fun spin on Lemoyne Stars by creating electrifying Lightning design. This quilt pattern offers 3 different size options; Wall, Throw and Full. You will learn to master 2 different types of Lemoyne Stars; Lemoyne as Triangles and Banded Lemoyne Star. This quilt would be fabulous with any color background. Both types of Lemoyne Stars are made with Studio 180 Design’s Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star. No paper piecing or Y Seams, you will make them by strip piecing!

Both the pattern and tools are required and can be purchased at the workshop.

Storm at Sea quilts are amongst those bucket list quilts, but wait no longer, this quilt uses Deb Tucker’s Studio 180 Design’s tools; the large Square Squared, V Block and the Diamond Rects. No paper piecing!

Michelle’s design puts a modern spin on the typical Storm at Seas quilt layout. Michelle used 12 graduating colors which gives it that calm smooth feeling. This quilt works great with Solid, Tone on Tone or Batiks fabric. Patten includes 3 size options (Throw, Double, or King) and you will be amazed how easily this quilt comes together with the right tools!

Learn how to use Deb Tucker’s Large Square Squared™, V Block™ and Diamond Rects™ as you make this fabulous quilt. The class will include step-by-step use for three tools, as well as tips on piecing and proper pressing techniques to make this quilt perfect! Additionally, we will talk through the color selection and placement, plus ways to improve your general machine piecing.

Snail’s Trail quilts are amongst those bucket list quilts, but wait no longer, this quilt uses Deb Tucker’s Studio 180 Design’s tools; the Large Square Squared and the Diamond Rects. No paper piecing!

Michelle designed this modern play on Snail’s Trail quilt layout in honor of a longtime friendship, both Michelle and Jenn love the positive and negative aspects of this design. Michelle’s twin size design makes excellent use of those 1-yard fabric cuts you have been collecting.

It comes together with ease using Studio 180 Design’s Diamond Rects and NEW Large Square Squared. The class will include step-by-step use for both tools, as well as tips on piecing and proper pressing techniques to make this quilt perfect! Additionally, we will talk through the appropriate border prep and application, plus ways to improve your general machine piecing. You will complete this journey with easily!
