NEW! NEW!
A virtual quilt class means you can stay at home in your sewing studio; and you don’t have to load your car; drive somewhere; unload; set-up: tear down; load your car; drive home; and unload your sewing supplies. You have everything you need at your fingertips! All you need is a laptop or tablet with a reliable internet connection with the latest Zoom installed. Your virtual teacher has a variety of cameras so you’ll be able to see what she’s working on better than in a classroom. You will be able to see and talk to other students! Only 24 spots per class for Michele’s virtual classes.
There will be three choices of workshop. Each will be three hours. The first will be Spontaneous Log Cabin at 9 a.m. on Friday, September 8th. The second will be Calypso on Friday at 1 p.m. and the third will be Brimfield Block, English Paper Piecing at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 10th. There will be a pattern for each workshop and some cutting and advance preparation.
Spontaneous Log Cabin Virtual Class
September 8 from 9 a.m. – Noon
Let’s have FUN with your stash! This is a stress-free way to create a FABULOUS log cabin block (12” x 12” square or 15” x 15” square finished) in a creative non-traditional way. Make your squares from the same color family OR in light/medium/dark fabrics.
Calypso Virtual Class
September 8 from 1 – 4 p.m.
Calypso is for an advanced beginner to intermediate scrap quilter! There are sections that are strip pieced and sub cut; and 3 pattern pieces! The sample quilt uses 4 different colorways with a light and dark color value which provides an interesting secondary pattern. OR just make it totally scrappy using lights, mediums and darks!
Brimfield Block Virtual Class
September 10 from 1 – 4 p.m.
Elevate your English Paper Piecing (EPP) skills beyond the hexagon! Learn how to create two different types of curved pieces and a triangle while sewing them together with the infamous flat back stitch! A short inspirational PowerPoint on Brimfield blocks will be shown.
Michele Crawford from Spokane, Washington will be the instructor. Michele has been involved with sewing and other needle arts since she was 9 years old.
Since 2009 Michele has been teaching a variety of classes at quilt shows all over the country. She has been teaching virtually since April 2021. For more information about Michele check out her website at Flower Box Quilts.com.
I will be sending you the patterns and the Zoom link so your email addresses will not be shared with the teacher.
These workshops are limited to 24 participants – that is how many pictures fit on a computer screen and Michele wants to see everyone’s smiling face at the same time.
I have taken several Zoom workshops and find them to be very convenient and easy to do. I will be on Zoom at each of these workshops as well.
Since 1989, Michele Crawford, Flower Box Quilts – designer, teacher, author, marketing consultant plus website owner and quilt pattern company, Flower Box Quilts – has had over 4500 designs published in 40 quilting and needlework publications and websites; and worked with and for 35 fabric, thread, and batting manufacturers. Besides quilting, she enjoys all forms of needlework especially combining cross stitch with quilting plus English Paper Piecing.
