DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to invite you to an evening of community\, sharing and lea.rning with fellow quilters. \nOur guest speaker will be Laurie LeBar .  She will have a presentation of the history of Maine quilts and have quilts on hand to see. \nWe will be selling raffle tickets for gift baskets at 6 tickets for $5 or $1 each. \nCasco Bay Quilters kindly requests financial contributions for Scarborough’s project G.R.A.C.E.  (Granting resources and assistance through community effort).  This program provides milk for all Scarborough Schools\, food\, and fuel to people in need in our town. \nThere will be refreshments of fruit\, cheeses\, desserts\, and water for your enjoyment. \nWe will end the evening with door prizes. \nPLEASE JOIN US FOR  A FUN EVENING. \n

SUMMARY:PTQG Members' Meeting - Saturday January 25\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:10:00:  Business Meeting \n12:30 (roughly) – Guest Speaker  (Laurie Lebar)  – Curator at the Maine State Museum for past 23 years.  She curated nationally recognized exhibits\, authored and co-authored many papers and books\, expertly cared for Maine’s cultural heritage\, and traveled across the state as a lecturer. One of Laurie’s finalprojects at the museum was setting up an exhibition at the museum based on her book\, “Maine Quilts: 250 Years of Comfort and Community”. The exhibit is slated to open when the museum reopens in late 2025. \nOur speaker\, Laurie LaBar\, will share some of her stories and beautiful images of historical Maine-made quilts. Her book\, Maine Quilts: 250 Years of Comfort and Community\, marks the first published study of Maine-made quilts.
