PTQG Members' Meeting
The meeting will be held on Saturday, September 6 on the campus of the University of Maine at Augusta in Jewett Hall beginning at 9:30 a.m.
The meeting includes a business meeting, an afternoon lecture by Jan Krueger, door prizes and a block drawing. Please bring your lunch and plan to spend the day with fellow PTQG members.

There are still openings in the Sunday, September 7th workshop, "Poor Man's Pineapple/Elongated Diamonds" workshop in Bangor.

Membership Dues
October 1st is the due date for PTQG membership dues for current members. Chapter packets that weren't picked up at the quilt show were mailed to the contact person. Floaters received their renewal forms in the mail. If you have questions regarding membership dues, please contact Susan Gerhardt.

Maine Quilts 2008
was an incredible show - fabulous quilts, superb classes, merchants with everything a quilter could want; a wonderful time was had by all.

The PTQG Web Blog is ready! Do you blog? Do you want to connect with other Maine Quilters that are online? We have created a forum where quilters can share their blogs, exchange thoughts, knowledge, inspire and share other bits of life including current projects.

PTQG is looking for individuals who would like to serve as members on the Mini-Grant/Loan Program Review Committee. Please contact Jane Hann Morey (207) 622-0343 if you are interested on serving on this important committee.

Opportunities for PTQG Members
The Exter Fine Fiber Fest
PTQG members are invited to show their work at The Exeter Fine Fiber Fest. This is an opportunity for participants to show and/or sell their work. The event takes place from October 11 through November 9 (Saturdays and Sundays 12-4) with the opening reception on Saturday, October 11 from 12-4.

Opening Reception
at the
New England Quilt Museum
"Metro-Textural"
"MetroTextural” is the latest group exhibition of works by members of the Manhattan Quilters Guild, an eclectic group of New York City professional fiber artists. Techniques range from scintillating piecework and illusionistic appliqué to painting and photo transfer. Diversity in the urban scene is a common thread that unifies the quilts in “MetroTextural,” which tours through 2009. More informaiton on this exhibit can be found on our Upcoming Events webpage.
The Opening Reception will be held on September 13th at 1 p.m.
Sandra Sider of the Manhatten Quilters Guild will present her lecture "Behind the Scenes: The Making of MetroTextural". Join Sandra to find out how this wonderfully successful project took shape and traveled to its many venues around the country.
