Pine Tree Quilter's Guild welcomes Dan and Carol Perkins

Come one, come all to the Pine Tree Quilters’ Guild fall workshops and trunk show.  Here you will find enough inspiration to keep you quilting through another Maine winter while you still have enough time to shop for the fabric!

Carol and Dan Perkins, owners and proprietors of Threads Galore Quilt Shop, will be joining us September 8th through the 10th to teach Deb Tucker’s Studio 180 techniques.  Dan was a member of Deb ‘s inaugural instructor class in 2013.

Carol and Dan share lifelong Maine family traditions and love for the needle arts.  Carol’s quilting history began in the early 1980s as she took needle in hand to piece and hand quilt her first sampler quilt.  This was followed by many more for family members.  Dan’s interest in quilting was piqued by the advent of the rotary cutter and machine piecing.  He finished his firs quilt, a double nine patch, in the early 1990s.  Things have literally bloomed since then and both Dan and Carol have become award-winning quiltmakers.

Memorial Day Weekend 1996 was celebrated with the opening of Dan and Carol’s shop, Threads Galore.  An enterprise that started with fifty bolts of fabric, a handful of books, and some basic notions has now grown to over one thousand bolts of fabric and a fun selection of books, patterns, and notions with every imaginable ruler and template.

Dan and Carol took an important next step in 2003 with the opening of the Quilt Inn Rangeley Retreat Center.  The center is open for quilt groups of all types to come and quilt, free of the stressors of work and daily life, creating a refreshing immersion in everything quilts.

We will be in Bangor on Friday and our pattern will be Signs of Autumn.  This pattern will make a great table runner or wall quilt or both!  On Sunday, we’ll be in Windham for Whirling Lemoynes, with the options of a baby, throw, or twin size project.  These are all day workshops, but we do break for lunch.  On Saturday, Carol and Dan will do a presentation and trunk show at the Members’ Meeting at Thomas College in Waterville.

To register for a workshop, send the completed workshop registration form with your check to Bev Henion 1st VP, 1016 West Bay Road, Gouldsboro, ME 04607.
